  • Darrell Amerman receives the Illinois Valley Fuller Center's Thank You For Your Service award from board president Greg Woith. Darrell served in the Army and saw two tours of duty in Vietnam starting in 1965. "When we arrived there wasn't a base camp," Darrell says. "Just a mud hole and two tents." Darrell received a Purple Heart and is the Commander of the Military Order of the Purple Heart in Peoria. He is owner of the Veterans Pub in Peoria and works tirelessly every day to help other veterans. One brother served in World War 2 and another in the Korean War. Thank you Darrell, and all veterans, for your service. Every Nov. 1-11, the Illinois Valley Fuller Center has "Joining Hands to Thank Veterans."
